In previous decades, much of the youth inhabiting lower-class areas of Chicago fell victim to gun violence, gang wars, and a lack of educational opportunities, which directly stifled their potential. However, programs such as Dreams for Kids in Chicago have challenged these hardships by providing numerous programs dedicated to helping children and teens in Chicago become successful leaders.
By creating a team of young social entrepreneurs ( known as Dream Leaders), Dreams for Kids helps children to engage in volunteer service, leadership conferences, and fundraising opportunities at a young age to ensure they have bright and successful futures ahead of them.
